Fayez Al Sarraj received Wednesday head of International Organization
for Migration (IOM) accompanied by a delegation comprising; Middle
East Region director for IOM, Director of European region and the
security director of the organization, and Libyan file officer at
IOM.

political Affairs, Lutfi Al Meghrbi, the Political Advisor to the
President, Al taher Al Senni, and Head of European Department at the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

the migration issue and the displaced.
Al sarrj said his government offers humanitarian support
according to available resources to migrants held at detention
centres until they are repatriated. He said migrants at the detention
centres comprise a fraction of the total number of migrants present
in the country.
He expressed confidence that collaboration with IOM would have a
positive impact in addressing issues related to migration due to IOM
expertise in the field.
Al Sarraj however, said the issue of migration not only concerns
Libya but the international community as whole and addressing it
needed the collaboration and coordination among all relevant parties,
renewing Libya's stance vis -a-vis the issue of illegal migration
which should not be confined to only security aspect but a
comprehensive remedy of the issue. He also called for the need to
support countries of origin to create development projects and
provide work opportunities for youth, and set up a comprehensive
system that addresses all aspects of the case and foremost fighting
gangs that work on human trafficking.
Head of IOM said the view point of IOM is in line with the stance
of the president which is against settling migrants in any form.
They agreed at the meeting to convene further meetings between
the IOM and Libyan authorities concerned with illegal migration.
