UN Security Council Welcomes preparations for Elections before year end.

New York, 7 June 2018 (Lana) UN Security Council Welcomed commitment of Libyan parties taking part in Paris Conference, to work constructively with the UN to organize parliamentary and presidential elections before year end and respect their outcome. In a statement Wednesday, the UN Security Council urged all Libyans to improve the climate for the elections by all possible means including unification of military and economic institutions, establishing unified security under civilian authority besides unifying Central Bank of Libya. The council welcomed the ongoing technical preparation work by GNA and other Libyan institutions including High National Elections Commission to organize the elections. It urged all countries to enjoin Libyans to work constructive and ensure technical, legislative, political and security conditions for the elections. The Security Council called on members states to cease rendering support and any official contacts with parallel institutions claiming legitimacy in Libya. =Lana=
