Presidency Council spokesman confirms formation of force for protection of south Libya.

Tripoli, 21 may 2018 (Lana) Presidency Council spokesman,
Mohamed Al Salak confirmed that commanders of western and central
militray zones began formation of a force for the protection of the
south of Libya.
In his weekly press briefing, Al Salak explained that the tasks of
the force is to diffuse tension and stop fighting and protect the
south of the country, fighting terrorism, smuggling and foreign
elements that infiltrated the area to sow divisions and foment
trouble.
The spokesman conveyed emphasis of the president of the
presidency council that the force is ready to cooperate and
coordinate with all parties and forces on the ground to restore
security and stability in the area.
On military operations in Derna, Al Salak reviewed the statement
of the presidency Council on Derna asking for urgent intervention of
wise, elderly and the dignitaries from derna and nearby regions to
reach a peaceful solution to end bloodshed and avert the city the
scourge of war, death and destruction. The statement stressed the
need to open safe corridors to deliver humanitarian aid and provide
basic needs to the city while voicing categorical rejection of all
forms of terrorism.
On the Libyan High Committee for Refugees, Al Salak stressed that
the committee began discussions by addressing the challenges
encountering return of refugees abroad and ways to address them
stressing that the objective of the committee is to ease difficulties
hampering their return and will work to provide needs of the refugees
until their return to Libya.
