Siala Participates in Ministerial Meeting on Illegal Migration in Rome.

Rome, 7 February 2018(Lana) The GNA Foreign and International Cooperation Minister Mohamed Siala has taken part in the ministerial conference held in the Italian capital and devoted to the issue of illegal migration. The conference which was opened by the Italian Foreign Minister Angelino Alfano under and was convened under the theme 'solidarity and security.' Alfano highlighted 'what has been achieved over the period that followed the convention of the first ministerial conference on July 6,2017. According to the Ministry's information office, the conference was designed to consider results and assert future goals for the fight against negative phenomena such as trafficking , illegal migration and organized crime. Siala outlined in remarks at the conference Libya's effort in combating these phenomena, praising the effort of the Libyan coast guard in this respect. He underlined the common responsibility in confronting these acts. The Secretary General of the International Organisation for Migration 'IOM' William Swing urged at the conference countries to re-open their embassies in Libya, to foster closer cooperation with country to resolve these problems and to protect human dignity not deny people access to Europe. =Lana=
