Presidency Council Condemns Assault on Area Around Mi'tiga Airport.
Pulbished on:
Tripoli, 15 January 2018(Lana) The Presidency Council of the
Government of National Accord as condemned the assault on the Mi'tiga
Airport surrounding areas, which described as an attempt to mess up
with the security of the capital and put the lives of the passengers
and residents at peril.
In a statement, a copy of which was obtained by Lana, the Council
said the assailants were seeking to set free a group of terrorists
belonging to Da'esh, Al Qaeda and other organisations from the
detention centre controlled by Al Rada 'deterrent force' affiliated
with the GNA Interior Ministry.
The Council declared a state of emergency around Mi'tiga Airport
and said it would remain in force until the outlaw elements are
tracked down and captured. The Airport will be secured by the state
security apparatus, it said.
These acts are not intended to free terrorists but also to an
attempt to forestall the peaceful political process, and the
internationally-backed effort to restore stability in the country,
the statement added.
