Brussels, 6 December 2017(Lana) The CEO of the Italian Energy
Group Eni Claudio Descalzi said the group was not concerned by
activities of its rival French 'Total' in Libya, noting that Eni has
settled on 'organic growth', production increase, instead of
integration and acquisition.
Responding to a question at a seminar held her on relations
between the EU and Africa, Descalzi said competition always existed,
we were born like dwarfs versus giants, but we managed to overcome
competition all over the world, and certainly it did not concern us
especially in Libya.
'Our group has chosen the 'organic growth' track, which means
exploration, others chose acquisition, so they are quite different
tracks, and by choosing the organic growth we were faced with few
rivals in the last 7 to 8 years, he said.
