State Minister for Women and Development Affairs announces proposal on intellectual property law.

Tripoli, 26 April 2017 (Lana) State Minister for Women and
Community Development Affairs, Assama Al-Austa has announced the
submitting of a proposal to the Chief of Staff Office at the
Presidency Council to set up a committee to be chaired by the State
Minister for Women Affairs and Community Development along with other
professionals to consider the delay of the Libyan law issued late
1960s on intellectual property.
The state minister explained that the proposal of the formation
of the committee came to consider three directions, first rights of
the author, adjacent rights and patents and third trademarks.
She said the need to update the law was to keep abreast with
developments and due to enormous efforts in the past by various
quarters to reach a legislative draft to be complied with.
