Rome, 16.05.2016 (Lana) Italian Prime Minister, Matteo Rinzi,
announced Monday that his country would not send military forces to
Libya despite external pressures .
Anatolia news agency quoted Renzi as saying that sending Italian
forces to Libya would put us in great perils, and our forces would be
target to many perils and attacks.
Italian Prime Minister said our goal lies in commanding the
international force to be formed in Libya, but this would not take
place until stability is achieved in the country.
Renzi underlined that Italy would continue offering support to
the Libyan consensus government led by Fayz Saraj to realize peace
and security in the country, besides 'our commitment to the
humanitarian situation' he added.
Head of Italian government pointed out that this decision came
through close consultations with president of Italy who has always
been cautious regarding any Italian foreign moves.
Renzi statement coincided with the start of the international
ministerial meeting on Libya, held in Vienna under the auspices of
Italy and the USA and participation of active countries to discuss
ways to empower Government of National Accord.
