The inspection of number of dams south of Tripoli.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, September 07, 2024 (LANA) - The Chairman of the National Emergency Committee affiliated with the Ministry of Local Government, "Nasr Al-Mahtout" and a number of committee members, yesterday, Friday, conducted a field tour that included a number of valleys in the municipalities of southern Tripoli to assess the condition of the dams and valley paths, in anticipation of heavy rains falling on the region.
According to the Ministry of Local Government, the tour included inspecting the Wadi Al-Majinin Dam, Wadi Al-Hamam in Al-Oraban, Wadi Al-Barghoutiya, Wadi Al-Kharwaa in the municipality of Al-Sayeh, and Wadi Al-Rabi'a. During the visit, "Al-Mahtout" was briefed on the ongoing work to clean the valleys and remove obstacles, stressing the importance of these works in reducing the risks of floods and valleys.
The head of the National Emergency Committee explained during the tour, that this visit comes to check on the technical condition of the dams and valley paths and ensure their readiness to confront the repercussions that may result from the flow of water, mitigate the resulting damage, and provide full support to the municipalities that may be affected.
"Al-Mahtoot" called on citizens to take precautions and not to use the valley paths until the period of weather fluctuations ends and to follow the instructions issued by the relevant authorities to ensure their safety.
The tour of the National Emergency Committee included the municipalities of (Souq Al-Khamis, Al-Oraban, Asbi'a, Al-Sayeh, Qasr Bin Ghashir, and Al-Awata).
