Tripoli, June 8, 2024 (Lana) The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) announced the graduates of the first cohort of young women participating in the Ra'idat program, which was supported by UN Women, the United Nations Development Programme, and UNICEF.

The UNSMIL said on its Twitter that the graduation of the first cohort took place after spending a year in training in order to acquire communication, advocacy, and leadership skills, in addition to increasing their knowledge of elections, human rights, and the legal rights of women in Libya.

"The program aims to upskill young women to be able to engage in elections, the political process, and their communities as leaders," UNSMIL added.
