A French military medical delegation visits the old city of Tripoli.

Tripoli, February 29, 2024 (LANA) - A French military medical delegation concluded a visit to the capital, Tripoli, by visiting the old city of Tripoli to learn about the landmarks and historical monuments of Libya.

  The Military Medical Service of the National Unity Government said in a post on its Facebook page today, Thursday, that the French delegation learned during its tour the division of the old city, the main gates and entrances, the squares and the historical monuments.

  The Red Brigades, the Philadelphia flag and the antiquities inside the Brigades building were also introduced, according to the same source.

    It is noteworthy that the French delegation was accompanied during its visit to the Old City by members of the committee assigned by the Director General of the Military Medical Service, headed by Colonel Faraj Al-Shamam.

    Yesterday, Wednesday, the French military medicine delegation made a field visit to Mitiga Military Hospital, as part of the agency’s plan to benefit from French expertise and establish partnerships for the purpose of localizing treatment at home, which the National Unity Government seeks.

  According to the agency's official Facebook page, the visit was devoted to inspecting the hospital departments, discussing frameworks and ways of cooperation in exchanging experiences, and opening the door for visiting doctors to come to Libya and provide their consulting services.

The delegation was also briefed on the new departments under implementation for cardiology, endoscopic operations and other important departments.

The French medical delegation expressed their admiration for the services and equipment inside the hospital from all departments, and they are ready to transfer their medical experience to all medical centers affiliated with the agency after signing the joint agreement between French and Libyan military medicine.
