Doctors Without Borders rescues more than 80 migrants in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Libya.

Tripoli, February 19, 2024 (Lana): Doctors Without Borders said yesterday that its ship “Geo Parens” rescued more than 80 migrants in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Libya.

The organization stated in a report that the rescue operation by the ship late yesterday caused the deaths of two and the loss of three others.

The organization noted that the ship recovered more than 60 people from a rubber boat in international waters off Libya and also recovered a body, while a migrant died on board the ship after being rescued.

The organization said that it had recovered 19 others from an abandoned offshore oil platform off Tunisia, while the migrants said that they swam there after water began to leak into the boat that was carrying them.
