Tripoli, February 14, 2024 (LANA) - Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo received in the Ghanaian capital, Accra, the person in charge of managing the work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Al-Taher Al-Baour, and the high-level delegation accompanying him, which includes the Chairman of the Founding Committee of the African Investment Bank and his deputy.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on its Facebook page on Tuesday evening that an expanded meeting took place during the meeting, during which they reviewed the efforts of the founding committee of the African Investment Bank, with the support of the National Unity Government, in launching the bank, which is headquartered in the capital, Tripoli. Al-Baour indicated the unity government’s interest in the file of financial institutions affiliated with the African Union.

For his part, the Ghanaian President affirmed his appreciation for the depth of the relations that bind the two peoples, expressing his support for the efforts of the “Founding Committee of the African Investment Bank” in launching the bank, stressing that the file will be carefully considered by all African leaders during the African Union Summit in Addis Ababa, which will begin this week, where the Ghanaian President will present his report on the development achieved by the Government of National Unity in particular.

It is worth noting that the African Union adopted, within the agenda of the summit, the item submitted by the founding committee regarding the #African_Investment_Bank and its role in providing sustainable financing to sectors, including the education sector, which African leaders will discuss in their meeting in Addis Ababa during the 17th and 18th of February.
