High Judicial Institute holds a workshop on justice sector reform.

Tripoli, November 27, 2023 (Lana): A workshop on reforming the justice sector as a part of the transitional justice process in Libya started yesterday at the High Judicial Institute, under the auspices of UNSMIL and the UN Human Rights Council.
The workshop was attended by member and Representative of the High Council of State, Bashir Al-Housh, who appreciated and thanked the administration of the Institute for hosting this important workshop.
In the first session, the participants discussed the justice sector reform item and an overview of Libyan practices and laws since 2011, including the Transitional Justice Law.
In the second session, the standards of integrity and independence of the judicial system were discussed, and the mission presented the “Bangalore” principles of judicial ethics and the UN guidelines for the independence of the judiciary.
The workshop items will be completed today, with the hope of producing important results and recommendations.
