Tripoli, November 26, 2023 (Lana) On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, yesterday, the National Commission for Human Rights in Libya (NCHRL) praised all national and international efforts to protect women and girls from persecution and violence and highlighted the role of human rights in respecting women’s rights and justice.

The NCHRL stated on its Facebook page the importance of intensifying efforts to reduce the phenomenon of occupational violence and the serious violations that women are exposed to in the work environment while going to the authorities concerned with providing public service, which include blackmail and harassment, in addition to the violations resulting from the suppression of freedom of opinion and expression and displacement as a result of violence, where women and children are more vulnerable to these risks and human suffering.

The NCHRL stressed the importance of working to eliminate these shameful practices and gross violations of human rights.
