An Emirati official reveals the humanitarian and relief aid sent to Libya.
Pulbished on:Abu Dhabi, September 26, 2023 (Lana): The UAE Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development Affairs and International Organizations, Sultan Al Shamsi, confirmed that the Emirati air bridge to the brothers in Libya is continuing to alleviate the difficult humanitarian situation that the Libyan people are living in as a result of the aftermath of Hurricane Daniel.
The Emirates News Agency quoted Al Shamsi as saying that the volume of humanitarian and relief aid sent by the UAE since the inauguration of the air bridge on September 12 to Libya to alleviate the effects and repercussions of Hurricane Daniel amounted to 622 tons on board 28 aircraft, benefiting 6,386 families.
Al Shamsi highlighted that the UAE aid included food supplies, shelter materials, and health packages, in addition to first aid supplies that were distributed in the areas most affected by the disaster, especially eastern Libya, and search and rescue teams equipped with modern equipment that support carrying out difficult tasks.
