Turkish Ambassador confirms to Al-Lafi that the news about a supposed Turkish participation in the recent security operations is incorrect.

Tripoli 29 May 2023 (Lana) Vice President of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, discussed during his meeting yesterday with the Turkish Ambassador to Libya, Kinan Yilmaz, bilateral relations between the two countries and a number of issues of common interest.

Yilmaz confirmed to Al-Lafi that the news about a supposed Turkish participation in the recent security operations in the west of the country is incorrect, according to the communication office of the Presidential Council.

The office stated that Al-Lafi expressed to Yilmaz the importance of partnership between the two countries and renewed his commitment to strengthen economic relations and prospects for cooperation in different areas.

Yilmaz commended the role of the Council in maintaining the unity of institutions and achieving reconciliation with steady steps and a strong basis, stressing his country's commitment to support Libya's security and stability and the depth of relations between Turkey and Libya.
