Tripoli, February 01, 2023 (LANA) - The Prime Minister of Italy, "Georgia Meloni," stressed the importance of her country's cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, especially in Libya and the Sahel region.

This came in a video message published by "Meloni" on social networks to assess the outcome of 100 days of the life of the right-wing coalition government, according to what was published by the Italian news agency AKI.

The Italian Prime Minister said her government had begun to defend her country's borders from human traffickers, referring to irregular migration flows.

Meloni met yesterday, Tuesday, with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, and they discussed the need to overcome an ideological approach that confuses the legitimate protection that must be guaranteed to refugees with policies towards migrants for economic reasons. Migration includes structural interventions and cooperation with African countries.
