MOH and Disease Control discuss a proactive plan to confront the new Corona variant (XBB)

Tripoli, January 09, 2023 (LANA) - The Acting Minister of Health, Ramadan Abu Janah, met today, Monday, with the Director General of the National Center for Disease Control, Haider Al-Sayah.

Al-Sayeh briefed the minister on the proactive plan to confront the new variant of the Corona virus (XBB) and to stand on the level of readiness of all health institutions and facilities throughout the country.

The ministry said in a statement that the meeting was held after following up the global epidemiological situation and the rapid spread of the new variant of the Corona virus, as the Minister of Health was briefed on the response plan and the needs of the National Center for Disease Control.

Abu Jinnah stressed the need for coordination between the competent departments at the National Center and the Ministry of Health to work on addressing the next wave of the Corona pandemic, and made observations about the work mechanism and ways to implement the plan to confront the new variant.
