GNU Minister of Oil and Gas discusses with British Ambassador to Libya cooperation with British companies and return to work in the oil and gas sector in Libya.

Tripoli, 28 September 2022 (Lana) GNA Minister of Oil and Gas Mohamed Aoun on Thursday discussed with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Libya Caroline Hurendall areas of cooperation with British companies and their return to work in the oil and gas sector in Libya and prospects of bilateral cooperation with the participation of British companies in the field of oil and gas exploration in onshore and offshore fields.
The Minister gave an overview of the mechanisms of joint cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the laws in force in Libyan, especially in the oil and gas sector, stressing the importance of a smooth energy transition and commitment of the Libyan state in general and the Ministry of Oil and Gas in particular to reduce carbon emissions.
The British Ambassador stressed the importance of Libya's security, economic stability and future cooperation in the field of energy transition and the use of renewable energies with the contribution of British companies in these fields.
