Attorney General's Office supervises committees from Civil Status Authority to compare system and paper documents.

Tripoli, 17 August, 2022 (Lana) - Public Prosecutor, Al-Siddiq Al-Sour, indicated that committees were formed from the Civil Status Authority under the supervision of a member of the Public Prosecution to undertake comparison between the system and paper documents.

He added in press conference held this afternoon in Tripoli: that the data of the Civil Status Authority system showed that the number of Libyan families amounted to one million seven hundred and thirty-three thousand and that the number of citizens totaled eight million three hundred and seventy thousand and forty-eight thousand and that national numbers were granted to non-Libyans and the investigation is underway about its implications.

Al-Sour stated that about 64,000 national numbers are present in the national number system and do not show up in the civil status system.
