The European Union wants a tangible implementation of the exit of foreign mercenaries and militants from Libya and mobilizes its support for fair elections.

Cairo, January 22, 2022 (LANA) - The spokesperson for the European Union, in the Middle East and North Africa region, Luis Miguel Bueno, confirmed that the Union is interested in seeing the concrete implementation of the exit of all foreign mercenaries, fighters, unarmed actors and other foreign forces from Libya in accordance with the action plan that It was agreed upon by the 5 + 5 Joint Military Commission.

The Union (welcomed the important progress made in Libya in the past year, from a ceasefire, to the adoption of a road map for elections, through to the unification of political institutions, and we need to consolidate this great progress, and we believe that it is very important to hold free, fair, inclusive and credible elections).

Bueno added in an interview with the Cairo 24 website, saying: (Also, we have already mobilized resources to provide support to the High National Electoral Commission, and Libya has a clear opportunity to build a stable and prosperous future, and we are ready to provide the necessary support to the country at this critical juncture, and strengthening dialogue among all actors in Libya is a necessary base for building an effective political road map, that will maintain stability and unity and lead to elections in the near future.
