Gentiloni: Our visit deemed political support to GNA and humanitarian support to Libyan people.

Tripoli, 12.04.2016(Lana) Italian Foreign Minister, Paolo Gentiloni has stated that his visit to Libya, deemed a political support to GNA and humanitarian support to the Libyan people. At a joint press conference with deputy president of the Presidential Council, Ahmed Maitiq, Gentiloni said; ' Our visit after two weeks from entry of presidential Council, sends clear message that we strongly support the Government of National Accord at all level'. He considered the visit, the first step towards cementing the Government of National Accord and would be followed by other supportive steps. He underlined that Libyan -Italian cooperation would translate in the coming days practically clearly between institutions in the two countries especially regarding illegal immigration, pointing out that there would be a cooperation between the two countries' ministers of interiors to lay down the bases for a unified programme to combat illegal immigration. Gentiloni said there would be a visit for the ministers of health and transport of the Government of National Accord to Italy and the highway road project would be activated and revived as well as opening of airspace and airlines between Libya and Italy. He also praised the bravery of the Presidential Council and its entry into Tripoli for settlement and work in the capital, calling on the international community to be at the same level of courage to support the GNA in all its decisions regarding Libya. =Lana=
