Senior officials meeting on Libya's support held in Tunis.

Tunis, 11.04.2016(Lana) Work of senior officials on international
support to Libya was kicked off Tuesday in Tunis. The meeting aimed
at helping the Government of National Accord (GNA) at all levels to
respond to the aspirations of the Libyan people.
The meeting co-organized by UNSMIL, and British Embassy in Libya
in collaboration with Tunisian Foreign Ministry. 40 Arab and Western
countries and representatives of 15 financial institutions and
specialized regional and international organizations took part in the
meeting.
Tunisian foreign minister in an opening statement said;
"Government of National Accord led by Fayez Saraj began to enjoy
strong regional and international support'.
Saraj government is endeavoring in earnest to restore the
situation to normality and face up to the grave security, economic
and humanitarian challenges awaiting it" he added.
He said international support to Libya be at bilateral or
multilateral levels suffers from many flaws due to inability of the
consecutive Libyan governments to clearly identify their needs and
priorities'.
The Tunisian foreign minister went on to say; 'Support to Libya
in the future should consider urgent needs of its people, taking into
consideration programmed priorities of GNA and that such support
should be exclusively under UN supervision.
Before the meeting the Tunisian foreign minister stressed in
press statement his country's rejection of the military solution in
Libya, saying his country is committed to its position supporting
consensus solution to end the crisis by supporting the Presidential
Council of GNA in its tasks represented in restoring stability and
ending suffering of the Libyan people.
He said support of economic institutions in Libya is a very
important factor in restoring stability in Libya, stressing in this
context that settling the Libyan file relies on political and
economic support to the Libyan people.
The big powers recently pledged to offer financial support to
the Government of National Accord, and consider supporting it
militarily in the face of Daesh organization.
