Electricity Company: 700 megawatt lost from Benghazi, Zawitina, and western Sareer.

    Tripoli, 26.01.2016(Lana)     Electricity Public Company 
attributed  power disruption and increasing distribution of load for 
five hours to the loss of  700 megawatt from Benghazi, Zawitina, and 
western Sareer and halting gas supplies to Rawiss power plant.
    The company statement said due to grave damages to equipment and 
tools of the Electricity Public Company especially power cables and 
production stations due to armed clashes at the oil crescent region 
and south west Tripoli power,  production deficit increased and 
failure in meeting demand in both the eastern and western regions.
    However, the company said resumption of gas supplies to Rawiss 
power plant to normal levels, and agreement of Electricity Public 
Company with the Tunisian and Egyptian Electricity Companies  to 
import electricity into the national grid, and improved security 
situation would enable mainatnce teams repair main power cables and 
production units and therefore improving power output.
    It also said that it agreed with some foreign companies 
implementing production units to return to complete such  projects as
Khomas, south of Tripoli, and Zahra projects and maintenance of West 
of Tripoli station.
