Turkey launches operation against ship loaded with narcotics off Libyan coast.

Istanbul, 06.01.2016(Lana) Anatolia news agency reported that
Turkish security forces carried out an air supported operation
against a ship carrying a Bolivian flag and carrying drugs at the
international waters north east of the Tobrouk port in Libya. The
operation enabled the seizing of 13 tons of drugs.
The agency quoted sources at Turkish Ministry of Interior as
saying that the Turkish security forces carried out the operation
after approval of both Turkish ministries of Interior and foreign
affairs and in collaboration with the Bolivian government and in line
with the UN agreement to fight illicit trade of drugs and narcotics.
Turkish Coast Guard teams launched the operation Tuesday against
the Bolivian ship in international waters north east the Libyan port
of Tobrouk and that 13 tons were seized in the first phase of the
operation, and that ship search is still ongoing, the sources added.
Turkish official said the Turkish coast guard would bring the
ship to the nearest Turkish territorial waters point to finalize
legal measures.
Turkish Ministry of interior officials said the operation was the
first to be carried out by Turkey in international waters.
