Pulbished on:
Moscow, 14 December 2015(Lana) Russia pledged Monday to support
efforts by the UN Special Envoy to Libya Martin Kobler and the
ongoing dialogue talks between Libyan parties.
A statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry published on its
website, said Russia was committed to the independence, integrity and
sovereignty of Libya, and the delay in settling the Libyan conflict
would eventually lead a growing influence of the terrorist
organisations there.
'Moscow was prepared to continue to support efforts by Kobler to
push the Libyan-Libyan talks with the inclusion of all political
powers, tribes and social groups in the peace process, the statement
said.
Russian Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov said at the Rome meeting
on Libya on Sunday the gathering was designed to avoid Libya
disintegrating, and said he did not see any difficulties facing a
British draft resolution on Libya at the UN Security Council.
He said participants have expressed particular interest in the
terror threat, given the terrorist activities exercised by Da'esh in
the country.
The Russian diplomat said he did not expect the British-proposed
resolution, to be put to the UN Security Council, facing any
difficulties after it has been signed on Dec.16.
