Tripoli, 04.11.2015(Lana) Proposed head of National Consensus
Government, Faiz Sarage held talks in Cairo yesterday with the High
Representative of the EU External Policies, Federica Moghrini.
According to a statement posted on website of EU mission to
Libya, the two sides discussed the situation in Libya at this
critical time and efforts to agree on a national consensus government
as facilitated by the UN special envoy to Libya, Bernardino Leon.
They also exchanged view points on EU potential support to enable
the new government perform its tasks as soon as possible after Libyan
sides reach an agreement in this respect.
Saraj and Moghrini expressed concern over the grave danger facing
the Libyan people and the region as a whole, if the two parties don't
reach an agreement on the new government soon and agreed to keep in
close touch in the coming days.
UNSMIL appealed Monday to all Libyan parties to work for the
success of the political dialogue to reach an agreement that would
provide for the formation of a government of national unity.
The mission explained that all parties agreed on expanding the
state council from 6 to 9 to include a prime minister, and five
representatives and three key ministers.
