An International meeting in London to agree on the most effective way to support a national consensus government.

London, 20.10.2015(Lana) UNSMIL has announced that it
co-organized with the British government Monday a major international
meeting in London to agree on the most effective way to support the
expected national consensus government in Libya.
In a statement posted on its website, UNSMIL said representative
of 40 countries and UN agencies alongside independent Libyan experts
attended the meeting.
Deputy UN Secretary General Special Representative to Libya, Ali
Al-Za'try said the meeting discussed the best way to help the
national consensus government in Libya via the proposed structure to
coordinate assistance through implementation experience in countries
facing similar difficult circumstances.
The British Minister for Middle East and North Africa Affairs
urged the speeding up of the formation of the Libyan government,
expressing his country's readiness to offer essential aid programmes
to Libya as soon as it receive the request.
The presence of many countries and agencies and high level of
representation reflects the depth and width of the international
community commitment to help the new Libyan government, the British
minister added.
