Tripoli, 22 September 2015(Lana) The National Salvation
Governemnt has strongly denounced the 'dastard attack carried out by
coup members, criminals and mercenaries on the southern city of Kufra
on Monday which left dozens dead and property destroyed.'
A statement obtained by Lana said 'the NSG has learnt with deep
sorrow and pain news of the martyrdom of several revolutionaries of
the city of Kufra notably the field commander Tawfik Shweisheen who
died in defense of land and honour.'
The Governemnt offered condolences to the families and friends of
the martyrs and wished the wounded speedy recovery.
The statement said 'the siege to which the city of Kufra has been
subjected for two months was so severe that it banned delivery of
essential supplies and endangered the lives of civilians in the
city.'
The Governemnt blamed the bodies which support and finance those
mounting this siege on the city and held them responsible for these
acts which amount to war crimes.
The NSG vowed to remain committed to offer support to the
revolutionaries of Kufra and would not abandon them until the
aggression on the city was repelled, the statement said.
It urged the international community to cooperate with it to
fight trans-border terrorist groups which seek to establish a
foothold.
