Letter from head of NSG to UN Secretary General.
Pulbished on:
Tripoli, 07.09.2015(Lana) The National Salvation Government
expressed its profound concern and indignation regarding the acts and
attitude of head of UN mission in Libya, Bernardino Leon in dealing
with the Libyan crisis.
The letter addressed by Head of NSG, Khalifa Al-Ghawil to the UN
Secretary General Ban Ki-moon that dialogue between the Libyans is
the ideal and sole way to get out of the current cycle of conflict.
The letter stressed that it has become quite clear the accumulation
of the grave transgresses made by Mr. Leon against the rights of
Libya and its people and his open approach to break the ranks of
Libyans and erode their social fabric and his bias to one side.
The letter said Mr. Leon's ignorance of essential remarks
submitted by a main party to the dialogue which is the GNC is a clear
evidence for the failure of the methodology of this man.
The government considered contacts made and are being made by
Leon on behalf of the UN with sectors and segments of Libyan society,
tribes, military battalions, municipal councils, women organizations
without coordination with Libyan state official authorities are
blatant violations of international agreements and covenants that
organize relations between states and the UN.
NSG said in its letter such uncalculated contacts did not serve
the existing dialogue but confused the scene and contributed to the
shuffling of cards and sowing divisions and increasing the gap among
the parties.
The NSG urged the UN Secretary General to urgently intervene to
halt such irresponsible moves and attitude of Mr. Leon on behalf of
the UN which has become inseparable part of the Libyan crisis. NSG
wished swift response to such request.
The letter explained that since it undertook responsibility, the
NSG addressed many outstanding crisis as well as security,
financial, economic and social issues and remarkably contributed to
consolidating security and stability experienced by many Libyan
cities especially the capital Tripoli home of most state sovereign
institutions.
The NSG also reaffirmed in its letter its support to the
reconciliation efforts which led to the halt of fighting in the west
of the country and this is an evidence for the good intention towards
stopping bloodshed and sincere desire to build state of justice, law
and institutions, modern and developed state with no exclusion or
marginalization, and where there is no place for extremism,
exaggeration and terrorism, state that all Libyans dreamt of and
sacrificed every precious and dear.
The MSG urged the UN Secretary General to take all measures and
arrangements to rectify the situation, while praising all efforts
made by the UN and the international community to restore security
and stability in Libya.
