Head of Audit Bureau disclose financial corruption in some of Libyan Commercial Banks.

Tripoli, 02.09.2015(Lana) The Head of the Audit Bureau, Ahmed
Al-Dayikh, disclosed that there was financial corruption in some of
the Libyan commercial banks.
The corruption is through banking credits granted by the banks,
including the credits granted by Al-Jumhuriya bank, Al-Magheriaf
branch, granted credits estimated at 380 million Libyan dinar, to
three companies, specialized in import of construction material
during the period 1 January to 16 June, in addition to 500 million
Libyan dinar granted by Al-Waha Bank, Ghout Al-Sha'al branch, as
banking credits, Al-Dayikh told Lana on Wednesday.
The Head of the Information Office of the Audit Bureau said the
foreign currency control department greatly participated in the
financial corruption, as it approved forged letters of credits, in
addition to Libyan Central bank not reporting on the extent of the
needs of the Libyan consumers of commodities, for example the Central
bank's approval of invoices for importing chicken from one of the
countries where the kilogram is estimated at 87 dinar, while the
prices of local chicken is estimated at 4.5 dinar, and indicated that
report of the audit bureau for 2014 indicate a failure in the
performance of the Central Bank in its tasks, particularly the
foreign currency control department.
Al-Dayikh pointed for procrastination of several public bodies of
the state with regards to presentation of data related to the
employees national number.
