Tripoli, 01.09.2015(Lana) Head of UNSMIL, Bernardino Leon is
holding Tuesday consultations in Istanbul with GNC representatives to
discuss ways to proceed with the dialogue process to reach a peaceful
solution to the political crisis in Libya.
UNSMIL said on its website that the meeting precedes a dialogue
session in Geneva September 3 during which amendments submitted by
the GNC would be discussed to finalize the political accord including
an agreement on a national consensus government.
The UN envoy renewed to the parties taking part in dialogue to
consider the interest of Libya and engage constructively in dialogue
to speed up an outcome satisfactory to all parties.
GNC president renewed GNC desire to make the dialogue a success
as a national prerequisite, stressing the need to incorporate
amendments submitted by the GNC into the political accord that was
unilaterally signed by first initials .
In a statement Abusahmain said he noted no response to the fair
and logical demands that make any draft an effective and practical
agreement conducive to a balanced solution. He expressed surprise at
UN envoy firm adherence to the text of the draft agreement that was
unilaterally signed by first initials. and not accepting to make
amendments through complementary annexes that explain and bind the
original agreement.
