UN Mission: Consultations to support the future Libyan Government of National Accord.

Rome, 26.08.2015(Lana) The UNSMIL announced it had held a meeting
with the member states, regional and non-governmental organizations,
agencies, UN funds and programs specialized in the Libyan affair,
where the meeting dealt with providing support to the future Libyan
government of national accord.
Italian news agency AKI quoted the mission on the eve of
launching the fresh round of Libyan - Libyan negotiations that the
"meeting discussed the principals of the international assistance to
Libya and the agreement in this regard paving the way to progress and
mechanism for coordination if the government of national accord seek
international assistance".
The mission indicated, in its statement, that the more than 15
countries and regional organizations in addition to the World bank
and the Economic and Social Committee for East Asia (ESCO).
According to the statement, they firmly believe that meeting the
needs of wishes of the Libyan people can only be met through the
government of national accord and the international community should
be ready to support the government of national accord as soon as it
is formed.
The meeting agreed to work jointly through consultations with the
Libyan technical experts to determine the pressing priorities for
support with the aim of improving the living standards of the people
harmed by the armed conflict.
On his part, the UN Special Envoy, Bernardino Leon, said the
stability of the Libyan financial institutions, particularly the
Central Bank of Libya, support of the resumption of the production of
the Libyan oil, linking the Libyan airports with the aerial movement
with other aspects represent some of the priorities of the
international assistance.
The deputy UN special envoy urged the, Ali Al-Zaiteri urged the
member states to support the delivery of humanitarian assistance to
the needy in Libya and develop a new plan a humanitarian response,
which is underway and will be completed soon.
He said it is important to engage effectively with the concerned
Libyan parties concerning the humanitarian issues, where our
participation is vital in addressing the situation in the areas of
humanitarian suffering such as Benghazi and Sirt.
