NSG Libyan media delegation visits SETA Center for Social and Economic Studies.

Ankara, 22.08.2015(Lana) The National Salvation Government Libyan
media delegation paid a visit to (SETA) Center in the capital Ankara.
The Deputy Director of the Center briefed the Libyan media
delegation about the establishment of the center ten years ago, and
it is not associated with the government or party, rather an
intellectual establishment that operates without any charges as a
civil society institution.
The deputy Director clarified that the center includes
departments of political studies, human rights, foreign policy and
liaison, economic and social studies and the humanitarian issues, and
it has another branch in Istanbul, and two branches in Washington and
Cairo.
The deputy Director indicated that the center is issuing two
magazines regularly concerned with the researches of the center, one
in English and the other in Arabic, and organizes joint workshops
specialized in local and international matters and a training program
for the youths.
Meanwhile, the Undersecretary of the media for radio and TV
affairs presented a summary on the situation in Libya and the
significance of the research centers to eliminate intellectual and
political desertification, which made the transition from a
repressive regime to the post revolution stage a complicated one.
While the Director of the Foreign Media Department stressed the
depth of the historic relations between the two countries and
Turkey's position during the revolution, especially concerning the
file of the wounded and the preemptive measure it took following the
liberation by accrediting the first ambassador in Libya.
The Libyan delegation discussed the training and support for
activists and members of the civil society and the prospect of
training groups from outside Turkey.
