Ankara, 19.08.2015(Lana) NSG media delegation currently visiting
Turkey discussed Wednesday with member of the Turkish parliament and
Turkish government envoy to Libya, Amarallah Isler historical
relations between the two friendly countries.
Member of the Turkish parliament reviewed in his meeting with the
Libyan media delegation at his office in Ankara historic and
diplomatic relations with Libya and bonds between the two countries,
expressing indignation at recent developments in Libya.
Isler highlighted the role played by the media at this
significant juncture and importance of public awareness of
developments unfolding, pointing out at media disinformation campaign
against Libya and the Libyan people.
The Turkish MP stressed that the Turkish government does not
support any Libyan party and that it has taken a neutral stand from
all parties as after all they are all Libyans. He stressed that
Libyan-Turkish diplomatic relations did not stop and that two weeks
ago he met Mr. Nuri Abusahmain President of the GNC and that contacts
with Libyan officials are continuing even after the departure of the
Turkish ambassador from Tripoli.
The Turkish government envoy to Libya offered the view points of
the Turkish government regarding the UN sponsored Libyan dialogue,
reiterating their neutral position, pointing out that the solution
in Libya is a political one and on the table no matter how prolonged
the fighting will be and that the Turkish government is ready to play
a mediation role between parties to dialogue to reach the safe shore
as he put it.
