Libyan media delegation visits Turkish Radio and Television TRT.

Ankara, 19.08.2015(Lana) NSG media delegation paid Wednesday a
visit to Turkish Radio and Television TRT in the capital Ankara.
TRT officials welcomed the visit of the Libyan delegation and
head of TRT External Services, Suliman Ardal briefed the Libyan
delegation about work and activities of TRT which houses 15 TV
channels and 16 radios that broadcast to the world. About TRT
technology, he said it ranked fifth at global level and that it is
keen to forge strong relations with international institutions as it
concluded 174 cooperation agreements with media institutions across
the world. Such cooperation agreements include exchange of expertise,
technologies and training pointing out that TRT offers training to
12,000 people annually, he added.
TRT officials said the corporation has annual training programme
in all media technology fields and that last year 30 countries
participated in the TRT training programme hoping that Libya would be
present in this year's training cycle due in October inviting all
Ministry of Information affiliated bodies to take part.
On his part head of the Libyan delegation, Waleed Etnaish
praised the warm welcome and the intention to support and cooperate
with Libya, stressing the role of Libyan-Turkish relations and the
need to put such cooperation within a framework due to the
significance of the information field especially at this critical
juncture. He also introduced the Ministry of Information and its
affiliated bodies.
Etnaish also invited TRT to appoint correspondents in Libya to
see developments beforehand and open up an office in Tripoli,
explaining the role of state media in putting things into perspective
and not to allow some private channels to inflate or marginalize some
issues.
The head of the Libyan delegation underscored the importance that
officials from both sides appreciate the force of the media which has
become the first power and not to ignore state media considering this
meeting a preliminary for joint agreement on bilateral cooperation.
For his part Mr. Jamal Zubya, Director of External Information
Department expressed his readiness to offer assistance to foreign
journalists and facilitate their job to carry out their duties in
Libya.
The NSG media delegation currently visiting Turkey comprises
deputy minister of Information, Mr. Waleed Etnaish, Director General
of Lana news agency, Abier Al-Qalal, Director of External Information
department, Jamal Zubya, and Mr. Abdulfatah Ramadan from the
External Information Department.
