Mayor of Tripoli Dismisses Reports of his Dismissal.

Tripoli, 19 August 2105(Lana) The Mayer of Tripoli Central, Al Mehdi Al Harati has dismissed media reports that he was sacked from his post. In an exclusive statement to the Libyan news agency on Wednesday, Al Harati said no decision has been made by the Ministry of Local Governemnt of the National Salvation Governemnt for his dismissal, neither by members of the municipal council of Tripoli. No meeting has been held and no contacts with me were conducted by the council members, he added. He described the meeting held by 6 members of the municipal council as illegal. He said it was conducted with an unofficial minute, in the absence of committee rapporteur and was signed by 5 with 4 members abstaining. Al Harati described the move to dismiss him as a coup, and called for saving the capital the political wrangling, demanding that the role of municipal councils be revitalized, including releasing of budgets and dispensing of authorities to the local bodies. =Lana=
