Tripoli, 13.08.2015(Lana) Chief of the General Staff of the
Libyan army, Maj-Gen Jadalla Al-Abedi underlined that Libyans look
forward to building a strong army which is set to protect the
homeland in the light of a democratic state with peaceful rotation of
power according to the constitution with no interference from the
army.
Al-Abedi praised members of the armed forces everywhere on the
anniversary of the Libyan army, urging all youth of Libya to join the
military institution to be soldiers and officers through recruiting
and army training channels to renew the blood of this old
institution.
Al-Abedi said some army leaders are still repeating the same
theory of the former regime which ousted the constitutional monarchy
and rendered this military institution to serve its own aims and
goals, and it is the same matter to which Benghazi is now subjected
where the city is destroyed and its population is displaced under the
pretext of fighting terrorism in the name of the military
institution.
He said companies paraded today are regular army units and
revolutionaries who joined on individual bases the army institution.
This is probably the first building blocks of the force with which we
decided to confront the terrorist organizations that started to
expand in our country.
Al-Abedi said we started to make painful blows to terrorist
organizations in Serte and other places to eradicate these bandits,
urging the international community to take appropriate stances in
support of Libya which is fighting terrorism alone.
