Tripoli, 11.08.2015(Lana) The UN special envoy, Bernardino Leon
confirmed the participation of all Libyan parties in the new round of
political dialogue in Geneva, conceding that Libya is facing
extremely huge challenges.
At a press conference Tuesday in Geneva, at the start of the new
round of Libyan dialogue, Leon said; " All parties are taking part in
the political dialogue without exceptions".
The new round of Libyan dialogue in Geneva would discuss issues
of a government of national unity, state council, and composition of
the government, he added.
He explained that " The other track which is being worked is to
ensure also participation of political parties in this dialogue
during the coming days so that all Libyans would be represented in
the political process". He also pointed out that there is another
security track to ensure security on the ground with any agreement to
be reached.
Leon revealed that parties would be invited to work during the
coming three weeks up to August, hoping that desire and political
will of all parties would be a factor to sign the final accord in the
first week of September and before convening the UN General Assembly.
Leon said now work is on appendixes which would include formation
of the government of national unity, assurances to the parties. He
stressing that he would listen to concerns of all and that assurances
do not concern only one party, as proposals would be put forward to
see if they can be incorporated into the appendixes to be ultimately
enclosed to the political accord.
