Oil Source: Steady Effort to Reopen Al Sharara and Al Fil Fields.
Pulbished on:
Tripoli, 11 August 2105(Lana) An oil source at Al Zawiyah
Terminal has said that a concerted effort was exerted to reopen Al
Sharara and Al Fil oil fields which have a production capacity of
400000 BPD.
Unconfirmed statements published on SMS media indicated that a
progress has been made to resume production at the Al Sharara and Al
Fil oil fields, although the spokesman of the National Oil Company
Mohamed Al Hrari said the fields were still closed.
Al Sharara operated by the National Oil Company and the Spanish
Repsol is closed since November 2014, while the pipeline connecting
Al Fil field operated by NOC and the Italian ENI was also blocked.
Libyan oil production fell to less than 400000 BPD, a fourth of
the country's production before the 2011 uprising and the subsequent
turmoil in its oil sector.
