Khomas, 09.08.2015(Lana) Faculty of Economics and Commerce in
Khomas organized a workshop on "Local development economies in Libya,
Khomas region a paradigm".
Several papers were presented at the workshop covering issues
such as relative significance of olive trees in economies of Khomas
region, tourist identity of the area, role of incubators in the
development of local economy of Khomas, role of developmental
planning in the light of local management, role of the private sector
in local development and Khomas 2030 Initiative.
The workshop aims at highlighting role played by municipalities
in raising the pace of local development, taking stock of resources,
and help higher authorities and using Khomas region as a paradigm for
role that could be played by municipalities. It also aims at
underlining role played by the private sector and role of scientific
institutions in local development and highlight economic potentials
of Khomas region.
