Tripoli, 05.08.2015(Lana) Amnesty International released a report
on kidnapping cases in Libya in line with its solidarity campaign
dubbed " Disappeared from face of the earth : Civilians kidnapped in
Libya".
In its report released Wednesday said that over 600 people in
Libya are unaccounted for since last year and that fate of more than
378 people is unknown according to the Libyan Red Crescent, saying
that the number of the missing could be higher.
Deputy Director for Middle East and North Africa programme at
Amnesty International Saed Bomadoha said kidnappings are carried out
just for whims or because of the belief that they support a rival
political group. He pointed out that many cases were kept as hostages
to exchange them or force their families pay ransom.
