Ministry of Justice Condemns Circulated Violations Against Prisoners at Rehabilitation Centre.

Tripoli, 5 August 2105(Lana) The National Salvation Governemnt Ministry of Justice has said it condemned all forms of violations of human rights of prisoners, and described media reports about torturing prisoners in the Tripoli Rehabilitation Centre as mere individually-perpetrated crimes against prisoners. The Ministry stated in a statement on Wednesday its clear and unequivocal rejection of any violations against prisoners, including humiliation and physical assault, and said it would pull the legal cover on all those proven to have been involved in such crimes among the judicial Police. The statement stressed that all who were proven to be involved would be referred to the prosecution office. the Ministry said it would be ready to cooperate with relevant bodies on this matter. 'The reason for the leaking of these reports at this time was to undermine the court ruling against the former regime loyalists, said Adel Al Karmousi, the Under Secretary of the Ministry of Justice. The Prosecution Office, as the higher supervisor of prisons, has already ordered an investigation and took the necessary measures, he said. =Lana=
