Arab Ministers to Approve Draft Protocol on Joint Force Next Month.

Cairo, 28 July 2105(Lana) The Arab Foreign and Defense ministers
are scheduled to hold a joint meeting next month, to approve the
draft protocol for the formation of a joint Arab defence force.
The Arab League Deputy Secretary General Ahmed Ben Helli said in
press statements the joint meeting of the Arab foreign and defense
ministers will be held at the headquarters of the Arab League General
Secretariat on August 27, 2015.
Ben Helli said the meeting was decided by the Arab summit held in
Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt on March 29, 2015.
Ben Helli's added that the date of the joint meeting was set
after consultations between the Arab League General Secretariat,
Egypt as the current head of the summit, and a number of Arab League
member states.
Chiefs of Staff of Arab countries armies previously held two
meetings at the headquarters of the Arab League, to consider the
special protocol on the joint force.
The draft was forwarded to a tripartite committee comprised of
Egypt, the current head of the summit, Kuwait as the previous head of
the summit and Morocco which will be the next head and the Arab
leaders for study before putting it to the foreign and defence
ministers.
