Pulbished on:
Tripoli, 23 July 2015(Lana) The Metropolitan Tripoli and large
swaths of neighboring areas live under prolonged periods of power
outing, which sometimes goes beyond 12 hours.
Households had to endure summer heat with temperatures up to 35
degrees without electricity, while services and governemnt offices
forced to close as a result of the power cuts.
The General Electricity Company has announced that power
transmission lines between Al Zawiyah power Station and the
neighboring areas and step-up transformers have been switched off
because of high humidity which reached more than 100%.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Company said as a result of the
weather conditions, the station lost nearly 1500 mega watts of its
capacity, and that work was underway to operate alternative
generation units and restore the previous level of the network.
