Tunisian Organisations Call for End to Construction of Wall on Libyan-Tunisian Border.

Tripoli, 21 July 2015(Lana) Tunisian professional organisations have come out against the erection of the earth wall being erected by the Tunisian authorities along the border with Libya, which they described as a unilateral decision taken by the government without proper discussion in line with democratic norms. They issued a statement in which they urged the government to abandon the controversial project, which they said could undermine livelihoods for the population in the southern region. The statement said the population of Ben Gerdan supported the Governemnt battle against terrorism, but not when the fight backfired and restricted the means of subsistence for them. The organisations interpreted the Governemnt decision to erect the wall as a failure to fight terror and a sign of weakness of the competent bodies. =Lana=
