Le Drian: Anti-trafficking Plan Needs Approval of Libyan Authorities.

Paris, 22 June 2105(Lana) French Defence Minister said the EU
plan to combat traffickers of illegal migrants from Libyan shores
needed approval of the United Nations and the Libyan authorities.
Jean-Yves Le Drian said in statements, execution of the European
plan would start on Monday, with gathering of intelligence on
traffickers and interception of their boats, then intervention in
territorial waters and destruction of the boats. Asylum seekers must
be protected, he said.
Le Drian said his country did not have proof of the killing of
Mukhtar Belmukhtar, the man linked to Al Qa'eda in the Islamic
Maghreb group, in a drone attack carried out by the United States in
Libya.
