Pulbished on:
Khartoum, 21 June 2015(Lana) The Sudanese Foreign Ministry has
mounted an offensive to confront a British-backed resolution before
the UN Security Council to keep the joint international mission
UNAMID in Darfur, western Sudan.
The spokesman for the Sudanese Foreign Ministry Ali Al Sadeq said
in statements on Sunday the ministry and the Sudanese mission in New
York have launched started extensive moves and contacts among
friendly countries and peace-loving countries and organisations to
inform them about Sudan's view point concerning the agreement reached
by the tripartite committee assigned to put in place an exit strategy
for UNAMID especially that the mission justified existence in the
province has expired.
The Sudanese UN mission has deplored statements by the US
Representative Samantha Power over the situation in Darfur and the
exit strategy.
Al sadeq refuted the US Representative statements, and the
Sudanese mission circulated a press release deploring the statements
and the 'baseless' judgment especially the negative narrative about
the UNAMID exit strategy, describing the situation in Darfur as
deteriorated.
The statement described US statements as stark contradiction of
the reality on the ground.
