Ministry of Tourism publishes report on landmarks of Yefern city.

Tripoli, 18.06.2015 (Lana) ِ A report by NSG Ministry of Tourism
on Yefern City showed the tourist potentials of this city both
historic, scenery and other legacy that deserve visits and
explorations.
The report underlined that Yefern landmarks are diverse and
enormous, and expand on vast areas, allowing their visitors
opportunities to explore old cereal mills, and olive oil traditional
extracting tools, besides visits to Ammer Shamakhi mosque built 400
years ago on Al-Maanyeen region.
The report also said that "Henshir Sufeet" east of Yefern among
the oldest archaeological testimonies, as the tomb was built during
the Roman are is one of the oldest landmarks in the region, and which
is adjacent to the remains of a fortified farm belonging to the same
era.
One of the most prominent landmarks of Yefern according to the
report, the remains of two Jewish synagogues, the southern and
northern synagogues which date back to BC era.
The report also narrated the wonderful sceneries of Nufusa
mountains with its mosaic of stones which contrast with the green
plains that accompany the visitor in his way up the mountain in one
's way to Yefern with the background sound of " Tamediat " spring
below Yefern tourist hotel which overlooks plains below the mountain.
Grasping the heritage of the region is provided by a visit to
"Bait Asleen" in the old village of Sheqarna. This historic house
embodies life 200 years ago when rich artistic and cultural heritage
existed and formed a beautiful mosaic that highlighted the old
heritage. The house comprised rooms for old manuscript, marriage
ceremonies, collections, a tent, and a room for showing documentary
films, a cafe, a restaurant, and a kitchen. The house also has
photography services of landmarks, tourist sites and print and visual
documentation.
The house provides tourist information, tourism guiding and
organize trips for local and foreign tourists and also provides
places for accommodation and retreat.
The report also pointed out to "Taqerbest" village with its
houses and ancient mosques and vast arenas and narrow streets,
penetrated by agrarian land that separates the villages of
Al-Sheqarna, Al-Qassair, Al-Bekhabkha, Al-Mashosheen, Tamlout, Aum
Jersan, and Qala (castle) biult below the mountain with its landmarks
that cannot be missed such as Titrween mosque or Nana Zaurgh
overlooking Yefern-Qala road and Abi Sakan Ammer Al-Shamakhi, Arnon
mosque, Amrsalon, Taizbet and the Othman mosque built during the
Othman era. On one corners of the place there are visages of Yefren
hotel tower (Taqsbet) a vestige of Libyan battles with the Othman
army which forces targeted cities of the region and destroyed most
warehouses such as Deceir palace the biggest and most magnificent,
Atrar and Aqdeem destroyed during Turkish attacks on cities of Nufusa
Mountain.
